I did not know Phillip, and I do not know his family. I wanted to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to Phillip for his bravery and his willingness and ultimately his sacrifice for our country. My brother is currently serving in Afghanistan and I worry constantly that he may not come home. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you are extremely proud of Phillip and he is smiling down on you now.

May You Rest In Peace Lance Cpl. Phillip D. Winnedge.

Until that day you

While I personally did not know Phillip, my son who is also a Marine in Helmand province, has a friend who served in the same unit with Phillip. I heard he was a wonderful Marine who truly loved his country and family. My heartfelt condolences go out to your family. We will keep your family, Phillip and all our brave military in our prayers.

I am so proud of his service to this country as well as all others who are serving too. The death of you hit me hard due to this. I kept thinking of my brother's future deployments but I know he will be quite alright. He has you and
