Many heroes fall during battle
this fight for freedom often costs
these men and women we send to foreign shores
often it these lives that are lost

but they will not be forgotten
we honor those souls that slip away
and know that they've become angels
In heaven, on this day

The memory of them lives on
as we sleep we see their face
the dreams seem so very real
we often imagine their warm embrace

God has given them free reign
to whisper gently to the trees
to glide effortlessly among the

I am so lost for words of what to say. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Please give Grandma and Grandpa Vinnedge a hug for me. I am so proud of you for doing what you always wanted to do. I love you Phil, and I will never forget you.

Dear Vinnedge family,

I am so sorry for what has happened. I know there is nothing I can say that can make the pain of losing him go away. I had a class with Phil and I remember him talking about how excited he was to go into the Marines. He loved what he did and you should be proud. Heaven just gained another gaurdian.

God Bless.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this to you. Even though I personally do not know you, I want you to know how much I am deeply touched by your sons sacrifice to our country. It is because of men and women, many just like your son, that I can lay my head down at night and know that I am safe. I will not even begin to imagine the pain you are going through, but I

I met Phil when I just got into Boy Scout Troop 674 around 6 or so years ago. I gotta tell ya, we didn't get along. But it wasn't like we hated each other, more or less it was kind of like brotherly love (so I think). He was like the older brother I never really got to see and when I did, most of the time we didn't get along; but he was a brother nonetheless.
I miss him. So if Phil can somehow hear this, just remember the time you stole my hat and I tackled you haha
