I'm very glad Phillip and I became friends my senior year of high school. Throughout our high school career we may have had classes together but the best one was Volleyball, Badminton, and tennis class which was a blow off class. Because of the openness of the class Phillip and I basically had a full hour to talk about anything. Usually about how he was excited to join the Marines or debating whose '69 Camaro was better. Please know that my family would like to extend our sincerest sympathy to the family of Lance Cpl. Phillip Vinnedge. We did not know him but want you to know that we appreciate the sacrifice he made so that we can continue to life free and my kids can grow up in a free country. I met Phill when I was in seventh grade he was in sixth we rode the bus together and then in high school we had a few classes together.. Phillip always had a big smile on his face he was always there for you if you needed him he was such a good friend and he will forever be missed he will always be a hero to me and my children. I can never thank him enough for giving his life so my babys can grow up knowing the feeling of freedom..R.I.P. PHILL YOU'LL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

It was a pleasure to know Phillip over the last two years. I am the next-door neighbor to Phillip's fiancee Shelby. My husband, Scott, and Phillip played in the court for hours! Two grown men playing like boys. Scott would see Phillip outside and say, "Alright! Phillip is here!" And out the door he would run.

He was a good, good person. You could tell that from day one. He was always so smiley and so eager to help.
